Company Relationships
I've had the privilege of working with and building relationships with all kinds of companies over the years. Between my work as a commercial photographer and an Instagram influencer, I'm sure it can be hard to tell what kind of relationship I have with each company. So I decided to put together this page to bring some transparency to the matter. Below, I've listed every company I've had a relationship with over the past 2 years.
My relationships break down into four categories: Clients, Sponsors, Affiliates and Trade Partners. Some companies will be more than one throughout our relationship.
Clients
These companies have hired me as a commercial photographer for their brand. Under these agreements, I get paid to create images for use on their websites, social media, etc. Posts on my feed aren't included in these agreements and I maintain total autonomy regarding what I say if/when I post images from their set.
Sponsors
These companies specifically pay me to create images in order to have them posted on my feed to promote their brand to my followers. These agreements come with content brief highlighting what the brand's goals for the post are and messaging guidelines. For larger campaigns the brands often get to preview the content and leave feedback before it goes live. I still write all my content, but I shoot and write within the confines of the content brief and the brand's feedback.
Affiliates
These companies typically send me their product to try and then provide a referral code for me to share with my followers. I typically receive a payment of some sort for orders placed using my referral link.
Trade Partners
These companies send me their product in exchange for a post on my socials or feedback on their product. Brands don't get any say about how I shoot or what I say about the product. No money changes hands in these agreements
I'm lucky that this isn't my full time income, so I can be really picky about the companies that I choose to work with. I turn down a lot of offers for all of the categories above when I don't believe in the product or don't think it's good quality.
